Educational Robotics

The Educational Robotics program with LEGO Mindstorms is designed for high school students. Engaging in group activity building a functionally autonomous and complex robot helps them to release their creative power and at the same time to empirically understand the concepts behind the natural sizes in an exciting way.

Each robotic structure to work autonomously needs applied programming that is first approached by the new generation for the first time, through complex algorithms that children can easily compile in the special programming environment that Mindstorms EV3 delivers in a virtual way.
Through the interdisciplinary activities, we will teach them topics, first introductory and then advanced techniques of programming and manufacturing robot models, specially designed to solve in an original way the real problems of the world that surrounds them. The activities they work with these robots help students understand empirically the concepts of distance, time, speed, and mass that are difficult to learn at school because of their abstract character, but also the concepts of the arts of painting and music.

21st century skills related to the engineering, technology and mathematics sciences are rapidly becoming essential for the students’ future. The practical approach of educational robotics converts abstract concepts into tangible teaching experiences and puts learners at the center of the learning environment.

At the same time, children are preparing to participate if they want it in various pan-Cypriot and international robotics competitions.
